Here’s a little preview of my new office. I should call it ‘our’ spare room, but really it’s mine. Our little mint green dumping ground has been transformed into a peaceful space for me to work. It’s also just a lovely room to sit and read now that we have a sofa bed. There’s a few more bits and pieces that I want to buy before revealing all to you, but here’s a few of my favourite purchases so far.
I’ve always wanted an antique globe, but they’re pricey blighters and I’ve been looking out for a cheap alternative for years. I remember a couple of years ago seeing a lovely globe in Laura Ashley, I felt £50 was a little steep and left it, only to decide two days later that I needed that globe in my life. As predicted, it sold out, never to be seen again – except in Charlotte’s house {shakes fist}!
The antique style globe above is from Marks and Spencer. I can no longer find it on their website and there were just a couple left in store on Saturday. I learnt my lesson. This one was just £34 and I think it is beautiful. The little sparkly globe* was a gift to me from Harrods. It’s actually from their their luxury Christmas decorations range, but I am fully intent for this to hang up all year round.
The lamp is my latest purchase from John Lewis. I do love J-Lew.
On Friday I stayed indoors all day waiting for the delivery of my new bookshelf from Cotswold Furniture. Their arrival meant I immediately hung the lights that Cable & Cotton sent me. They look perfect draped over the top.
I’m on the hunt for some artwork for the walls, this is usually the part that takes me years! So don’t be surprised if the big reveal isn’t until 2017. I also bought a giant pin board and have since changed my mind. So if anyone is in the market for an enormous pin board, there’s one still in its packaging in my conservatory. I’m terribly fickle, what can I say?
